Phiero SR
Bunnie’s main ride is a 2007 Oldenburg gelding who, in the course of his first season of competing, went from competing at the Beginner Novice level, where he placed 2nd at his only event at the level, to placing 1st in his only Novice level competition, on to Training level, where he finished in 8th place with a clean and fast cross-country round, and started 2016 at the Preliminary level. Phiero’s career was on hold due to Bunnie and Ecko’s Rolex preparations, but he returned to competition in the summer of 2016. Since then, he has progressed up the levels through Intermediate.
Young Horses
Bunnie also has several young horses in the pipeline, including a Canadian Thoroughbred Gelding and three Homebred Irish Sport Horse crosses, ranging in age from 4 to 7 years old, who have begun their careers and are competing up to the Training level. Keep your eyes peeled for these exciting prospects in the coming months!
Client-Owned Horses
Bunnie shows numerous horses for clients, helping to prepare them for their owners to compete with, all of which boast several top placings with Bunnie in the irons.
Rise Against aka “Ecko”
After purchasing Ecko in 2011 as a 12-year-old non-conforming Eventing/Show Jumping prospect, he and Bunnie have progressed through the levels of Eventing with only one break during the 2014 season when he was sidelined for four months to allow his soles to grow back. Unfortunately, this occurred two months prior to their planned Rolex debut. Ecko and Bunnie have had numerous top placings at the Advanced/3* level, and in 2015 completed their first Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, finishing in 24th place. In 2016, Bunnie and Ecko made their second trip around Rolex, jumping a clean cross-country and a smooth show jumping, moving up 32 places over the course of the competition. Since then, he has competed around the work through the highest levels of the sport, brought several riders through the lower levels, and is now happily retired at Shepherd Ranch.
Past Stars
Bunnie has had several horses over the course of her career that have helped her get to where she is today. That number includes several talented Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds, including On Impulse, Don William, and Hark, each of whom one innumerable Area VI Year-End Awards from Training to Intermediate level. Don William also helped Bunnie to achieve the honor of Leading California Rider. She has also started and competed homebred American Warmbloods NVR Peter the Great and The Usual Suspect to 2* qualifications and completions. Gryffindor V has helped Bunnie to earn Area VI Master Preliminary Rider Reserve Champion, and boasts several top finishes at the level. He is now being reschooled and preparing for one of Bunnie’s students to take over the ride.
“All of these horses went on to take my students to levels ranging from Intro through Intermediate, which fills me with Joy. Many are still competing in there mid-20s, with incredible success.”
